Happy New Year everyone!
I particularly liked this watercolour. Here, unglamorous carrot tops grow a lovely ferny plant. Over Christmas, many veggies start to grow as I can't fit them all in the fridge. I felt sorry for the carrot tops and put them in water.
Any suggestions for other things to grow from offcuts? I would love to grow an avocado from seed but have never had any luck. Apparently they make wonderful, exotic plants.

I think you need a pretty warm climate to grow an avocado tree. I know some people in Texas who have them.
I had no idea you could grow a carrot from a carrot top. Mine usually already have the tops cut off when I buy them at the store.
Hi Maria! I think I would have to grow an avocado indoors as it is too cold here. Although not as cold as you are at the moment. Carrot tops will grow pretty leaves but I don't think they will grow an actual new carrot, sadly.
