A moody monoprint of a winter view from our back window. With trees and a church steeple.
And here are the mittens themselves, in an inadvertent tribute to Bernie Sanders. The patten is from the 1940s and the mittens have a very retro feel. Interestingly, mittens are not much worn by adults now? The left one is a bit messy as I was trying to teach myself the continental knitting method.
This is a largish knee blanket/ throw I knitted, about 80x120cm. For when its really cold and I am resisting turning the heating on. The colour scheme was left over wool from years ago but I like the rather bizarre colour combinations. I am planning another more tasteful one in shades of blue and grey also. I am finding knitting very relaxing at the moment.
Fabric stash for grey jersey 80s loungewear, red jersey dress, llama pyjama trousers, denim jeans. The llama fabric is called llama cactus party!
This is another year of intensive crafting. I am also knitting a chunky blanket as well as the ongoing Dr Who scarf, which is 5/6 finished, and have ordered a macrame kit for my 70s crafting theme.
I am trying to be more eco in using up fabric and wool that I have, buying for specific projects and buying natural materials such as wool yarn rather than polyester.
I find making things really helps me relax and feel I am achieving something positive at this difficult time.
