Summer sewing

Not the best photo, not the most technical skirt. But getting my sewing groove back with a simple gathered skirt in this elephant print fabric. Maybe I should have pattern matched at the seams but I don’t really mind the six legged elephants that appeared. Top tip to self, if there is an eccentric print, keep the colours simple.
Is anyone else enjoying Sewing Bee on the BBC? Always inspires me.

Spring Flowers

Spring flowers were spotted! Leading to the obligatory spring flowers picture. Photoed the three stages here of ink applied over flower in watercolour resist fluid, rub off resist fluid, fill in flower in felt pens. A fun technique that gives it a slightly retro, wallpaper type look.

Spring Wardrobe Declutter

It feels like spring is on its way at last! And that means spring clothes. And the seasonal wardrobe declutter.

What’s going?

Slightly tight pale green cashmere cardi, donation to Leen
White tshirt, with pasta sauce mark on hem
Pair jeans which are very stretched/baggy around body
Brown 70s skirt from ebay, just don’t really like brown

What’s arriving? (to buy or make)

Replacement jeans, maybe black
New white tshirt
Navy fabric with white elephant pattern to make summer skirt
Comfy flat spring shoes

On a recent trip to London, I trawled the excellent charity shops in Chiswick. Acquired a blue cotton shirt formerly from Cos and a black jersey dress ex Jasper Conran at Debenhams. I try to buy good brands second hand or they are already worn out.

New Print Project

Two quick prints from a new series I am planning on views from historical windows. I have been drawing different designs of windows from various periods and each will have an appropriate view.

These two have an early arched window with a tree and I am going for a peaceful mood.
