Mono photo

This is the best photo from my first black and white film! I am so delighted with it.

Many were fuzzy or dark until I got the hang of things.

The sun was shining through the flowers to give a wonderful light and a really magical, moody quality.

I love the rich, organic feel of the film rather than the digital photos. It feels like real art.

Seen from the Car

Seen from a very large and horrible roundabout in Aberdeen, the very large and horrible Hutcheon Court building.

Built by the council in the 1960s this is either a progressive piece of social housing or one of the city's worst eyesores, depending on your point of view.

Fun to draw, in an OCD mood, though. Part of my series of art depicting unappealing buildings.

Mystery Meat

Sometimes a food experiment goes too far.

I spent ages stewing this challengingly visceral piece of oxtail, but sadly it was very fibrous and fatty. Also disconcerting to find a vertebrae looking like something from the Natural History Museum on your plate.

A step too far, possibly.

Fun on Sun

Can anyone identify one of my favourite TV programmes from this picture of its location and star?

The castle is actually the wonderful Crom Castle in Northern Ireland.
